HIM 405 Issues in Health Information Management

This course is designed to facilitate in-depth analysis of key trends and issues in health information management and to explore their implications for management practice. The course will examine current health information management delivery systems, their legislative, political, economic and social complexities, and their ability to influence and be influenced by health care professionals. Issues addressed will vary in response to developments in the field. Students will be asked to critically analyze these trends and issues in terms of their impact on the management of health information as a whole, the provider-client relationship, etc. Lect: 3 hrs.
