NUR 810 Concepts in Contemporary Nursing Practice

The focus of the course is to analyze, and apply theory and contemporary concepts associated with health and illness, health care delivery, and family development though the lifespan. Discussion will involve individuals and families with a focus on contemporary nursing practice at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. Examples of concepts to be explored are: client-nurse diversity, self-care, and care-giver burden, chronic illness, resilience, and powerlessness. Lect: 3 hrs.
