CLD 415 Concept Development in Science

This course employs a project-based approach to the exploration of how young children develop skills and concepts in science. Students learn about scientific thinking, how to encourage science exploration, and how to support children’s scientific inquiry from various perspectives, including Aboriginal, constructivist, reconceptualist, and the Reggio Emilia approach. Students will learn about design and creation of learning environments, projects and assessment tools that advance children’s knowledge and skills development. Lect: 3 hrs.
