Students learn about the art of the past one hundred years, and the ways in which academic institutions, museums, public and private galleries define artistic practice. Contemporary art will be examined within the context of constructions of identity and place. Photography, video and artists’ use of the Internet will be studied, as well as works in traditional media. UL Lect: 3 hrs.
