IRT 101 Design Technology I

“Residential Construction” examines the principles, regulations, systems, materials and details of standard wood frame construction according to Section 9 of the Ontario Building code. Performance criteria for residential heating, electrical and plumbing are introduced. The principles and practice of sustainable design are also introduced. Students prepare contract documentation that includes floor plans, elevations, sections and schedules. Lect: 2 hrs./Lab: 1 hr. Course Weight: 1.00 Billing Units: 1
