HST 651 Problems in 20th-Century Eastern Europe

This course avoids the survey approach by enabling students to concentrate on certain specific aspects of 20th-century Eastern European history. Each semester will be devoted to a different topic or topics, which will be examined in some depth, taking into account social, political, economic, and geographical ramifications. Examples of subjects that might be examined include: “Eastern and Central Europe 1914-91” or “The Soviet Union: From Lenin to Gorbachev.” UL Lect: 3 hrs. Course Weight: 1.00 Billing Units: 1
