GEO 716 Geographies of Health

This course investigates both the complexity of what we call health and disease, and the multiplicity of approaches with which health and disease are investigated and understood by geographers. Students learn to recognize the many ways in which individuals and groups alter and adapt to their multiple environments, thereby shaping their own health. Understanding how spatial data about disease and death is presented enables students to assess health information available on the web. UL Lect: 3 hrs.
