CLD 421 Topics in Language Development

This specialized course builds on student’s knowledge of the acquisition and learning of language in young children. The purpose of the course is to go beyond the developmental perspective of language and explore the following topics: childhood bilingualism, language difficulty and disorders in young children, language development of internationally adopted children and twin language. Students will have the opportunity to engage in field experiences related to the course topics. Lect: 3 hrs. Prerequisite: CLD 342 Course Weight: 1.00 Billing Units: 1
