The course will explore the production of sitcoms, sketch comedy and comedic talk shows. After analyzing the structure of these genres, students will develop scripts and produce examples of comedic television. The course will explore the business and technical requirements as well as the writing and production opportunities in this field. Student will have an opportunity to research comedic performers, producers and writers as well as develop their own skills in these areas. Lab: 3 hrs.
