The first half of this course examines how industries are organized; how the conduct of firms is influenced by their internal organization and by the structure of the industry of which they are a part; and how an industry’s performance is determined by the conduct of its firms and by the industry’s structure. The second half of this course deals with public policies towards industry: competition policy, economic regulation, public enterprise. Lect: 3 hrs.
