Building upon conceptual frameworks that inform social work practice, the course develops strategies, approaches and skills that reflect an anti-oppression perspective. Specific attention is given to centering the person in all interventive approaches; addressing issues of difference and power; drawing on people’s strengths and understandings; solidarity building; addressing resistance; and developing critical consciousness.
