SOC 942 Women and Structural Change

This course examines the condition of women, focusing on structures of power and processes of change. Historical and cross-cultural expressions of sexual inequality are explored, although emphasis will be placed on current issues facing women in Canadian society, including their relationships with men, children and other women. Policy formation and institutional change in health care, media, education, and other areas will be studied. Lect: 3 hrs.
