SOC 481 Survey Design and Analysis

This course builds on introductory courses in methods, by focusing on survey design and analysis. Competencies include sampling, measurement, designing questions, validity, reliability, statistical inference, and hypothesis testing. A substantial portion of the course will focus on data analysis using SPSS. Emphasis will be placed on understanding social statistics, including measures of central tendency, dispersion, and multiple regression analysis, among other things. Lect: 3 hrs.
