PSY 215 Psychology of Addictions

This course introduces students to basic principles and issues in the area of addiction, the factors that influence its development, and the methods used to treat it. The similarities and differences between addictive disorders and other forms of psychopathology are discussed. The course studies both experimental and clinical approaches to addiction. The course covers the various instruments and methods used by addiction researchers and clinicians and discusses their strengths and weaknesses. Lect: 3 hrs.
