POL 129 Canadian Immigration

Canada is often described as a country of immigrants. By examining Canada’s immigrant tradition, this course introduces students to a number of distinctive characteristics of Canada as a political community. Topics and themes include: changes in Canadian immigration policies; immigration and Canadian identity; how global migration is transforming modern politics; and the nature of human rights in an age of migration.
