POG 320 Social Identity and Citizenship

Despite the historical expansion of formal citizenship to previously excluded groups, several groups have found that social inequality, marginalization and exclusion have limited national belonging, rights and political participation. This course explores these various experiences focusing on class, gender, race, immigrant, sexual, differently-abled, and Indigenous identities. Lect: 3 hrs.
