POG 100 People, Power, and Politics

This course provides a critical introduction to the main themes in the study of politics, including state-building, nationalism, ideology, democracy, participation, development, security and globalization. We focus on the interrelated struggle for power and justice that lies at the heart of politics, raising questions crucial to informed, engaged citizenship: How do we define the “common good?” Who should wield power and why?
