PHL 110 Philosophy of Religion I

This course examines religion from a philosophical perspective. What is the nature of the “divine”? Can we give a rational account of religious experience? Can we prove the existence of God? Can the idea of God be reconciled with the presence of evil in the world? Is atheism a viable alternative to faith? These are just some of the questions this course explores. We will consider both western and eastern religions. PHL 110 is not available for credit to students who choose PHL 610. LL Lect: 3 hrs.
