OHS 516 Ergonomics

This course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of ergonomics emphasizing applications to product design and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries. The focus includes anthropometry, workplace design, and biomechanical and other human factors. It also covers physical and cognitive principles relevant to human performance and well-being that are reflected in workspace, interface and task design including controls and displays and manual materials handling. Ergonomic assessment methodologies will be used to assess design features and possible musculoskeletal problems. Lect: 3 hrs.
