NSE 112 Social, Political and Economic Perspectives

This course will introduce the student to the social, political and economic context of health care as it relates to nursing. The Canadian health care system will be examined with a focus on current issues and policies affecting the delivery of health care. Nursing’s history, its development of the profession will be examined. Students will be introduced to the ethical and legal parameters of professional practice. NSE 11B, NSE 12B, NSE 13B and BLG 10B must be taken concurrently with this course. Lect: 3 hrs. Course Weight: 1.00 Billing Units: 1
