This course will introduce the student to the social, political and economic context of health care as it relates to nursing. The Canadian health care system will be examined with a focus on current issues and policies affecting the delivery of health care. Nursing’s history, its development of the profession will be examined. Students will be introduced to the ethical and legal parameters of professional practice.
