NPF 606 Contemporary Art Theory

This course provides an introduction to the study of contemporary art theory. It examines theoretical developments within global systems of visual expression in the postmodern era. Subjectivity and representation, the impact of consumer culture on the art world, and digital modalities are among the issues the course addresses though close analysis of film, photography and new media artifacts.
