MUS 101 Intro to World and Early European Music

This course provides basic knowledge and understanding of music in culture, with emphasis on listening skills and repertoire. Brief survey of world music and the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods in European music. The functions of music in culture. Study of music vocabulary and early genres of music. Not available to Performance Production students. MUS 101 is not available for credit to students who choose MUS 300. LL Lect: 3 hrs.
