LAW 525 The Law of the Marketplace

An examination of the law concerning the marketplace in Canada. Common law precedents and federal and provincial statutes which govern business practices and define legal rights and remedies in the commercial environment are analyzed. Major topics include product liability, consumer warranties, misleading advertising, regulation of competition, hazardous products, packaging and labelling, consumer credit transactions, and privacy and freedom of information legislation.
