For students who aspire to write opinion pieces, this course will offer instruction in a variety of forms and types of critical journalism, including editorial and column writing, drawing on examples across forms of media. As in all ‘beat’ or specialty courses, classes may include readings, guest speakers and field practice with the potential for cross-media assignments. Lab: 3 hrs.
