JRN 202 Editing Essentials

Editors make decisions about what journalists say and how they say it. Students will explore the selection and presentation of ideas through text and image, with an emphasis on the fundamentals of editing text including such issues as consistency of style, grammar, syntax, proofreading disciplines and production practices. The art of headline and other display writing is also introduced and practised. Appropriate for a range of media. (Replaces first half of JRN 51A/B.) Lab: 3 hrs.
