JRN 121 Introduction to Reporting

This course continues to emphasize the core values of all journalism and build upon the fundamentals of writing and reporting introduced in JRN 120. Interviewing is a special component along with learning how institutions, such as the courts, work in a democratic society. The course introduces different forms of writing (news and features) that require an understanding of the basic tools of reporting. Students continue to develop their skills through writing assignments in class and on the street. (Offered in Winter term only.) Lab: 6 hrs.
