IDE 309 Sustainable Design

The construction and operation of buildings consume the majority of the world’s natural resources and energy, and contribute the bulk of landfill waste. This course introduces the concept of sustainable design for the built environment. It examines the environmental impact of building design and construction, addresses the issues such as: scarcity, social responsibility, cradle-to-cradle and increased regulatory provisions associated with sustainability.
