HIS 279 Europe, 1715-1870

This course traces the main developments in European history from the death of King Louis XIV in France to the unification of Germany. Within a broadly chronological context it examines the political, religious, and social changes that occurred during this time. Topics include: the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, Napoleon, the Industrial Revolution, and 19th-century political and social movements. Lect: 3 hrs.
