GEO 541 GIS Programming

The purpose of this course is to teach students how to expand the functionality of out-of -the-box Geographic Information Systems. Topics focus on teaching students how to utilize programming to solve real world geographic problems by automating processes, building new applications, and expanding existing GIS functions. The course will use the most popular GIS software packages and programming languages. No programming experience is assumed nor required. Lect: 1 hr./Lab: 2 hrs.
