This course complements FRE510 and is for students with a sound knowledge of French wishing to develop vocabulary and improve their writing. Through writing exercises, the course emphasizes clear explanation of French grammar, differences/parallels between written and oral French, use of precise terminology, and development of variety in writing style. Assignments are based on excerpts from essays, literary works, press articles, etc., chosen to illustrate styles and levels of contemporary written French. LL, UL Lect: 3 hrs.
