FRE 608 Intro to 20th C French Literature II

Postmodern and contemporary Post World War II. French literature is characterized by various types of experimentation with form, content and generic boundaries. Students will be invited to discover texts ranging from avant-garde Parisian theatre to the Nouveau roman and contemporary autofiction. This course will examine issues such as colonization and decolonization, feminism, immigration and alienation, identity, marginalization and otherness. LL, UL Lect: 3 hrs.
