This course examines the social basis of attitudes and behaviour related to human sexuality. By applying knowledge gained from the study of current research and theory, students will increase their understanding of the roots of societal norms and values related to sexuality and in the process they will have an opportunity to expand their own awareness of the range of sexual values and behaviour. Some of the areas to be considered are: premarital, marital and non-marital sexuality; sexuality and liberation; sexuality and interpersonal relations; sex codes and personal codes; sex and gender role socialization, etc. Lect: 3 hrs.
