ELE 804 Radio-Frequency Circuits and Systems

This course deals with design of CMOS circuits for wireless communications. The theoretical component consists of: introduction to wireless communications, modulation schemes for wireless communications, characterization of RF circuits, architecture of RF transceivers, building block of RF transceivers (LNAs, mixers, RF filters, VCOs, frequency synthesizers, and power amplifiers), and electromagnetic compatibility. Students are required to complete a design project with a professionally prepared project report. Lect: 3 hrs./Lab: 1 hr. Prerequisites: ELE 704 or ELE 734 Course Weight: 1.00 Billing Units: 1
