CYC 201 Child Abuse and Neglect

This course introduces students to the research and theories related to child maltreatment. Child protection legislation and policies, and treatment options are examined. Social and familial factors are explored from an ecological perspective. Indicators for, disclosure of and responses to of physical abuse, sexual abuse, child neglect and emotional maltreatment are discussed. Lect: 3 hrs. Course Weight: 1.00 Billing Units: 1
