CVL 909 Non-Highway Transportation Systems

This course covers basic concepts in the planning, design, and operations of transportation systems other than highways. These systems include airports, ports, railways, public transit, and bicycles and pedestrians. Topic emphasis will vary by system, but general topics include physical characteristics, design considerations, capacity and level of service, and management strategies. Other tools applicable to all systems include systems analysis approach, analytical models, and economic analysis. Practical case studies are discussed. Tut: 1 hr./ Lect: 3 hrs.
