CRM 300 Policing in Canada

Students are introduced to the concept of “policing” and the institutional and non-institutional forms it may take. The intersection of the uniformed, public police with other policing bodies, police discretion, culture and issues of accountability and governance are central to this course. The role of communities and developments in the global context provide the context for analysis of the future of democratic policing. Lect: 3 hrs.
