This production course will help students develop an understanding of and appreciation for the documentary genre. In addition to lectures and screenings, students participate in discussion groups and presentations, and will produce an original, fact-based documentary that includes a transmedia plan. Students will develop basic competency in documentary pre-production, production and post-production practices, acquire an introductory understanding of business and marketing strategies, and become familiar with some of the major theoretical issues associated with documentary.
