BDC 937 Business of Music II

Expanding upon the subject matter of Business of Music I, this course will examine the inner workings of the recording and publishing industries, concentrating on business models and practices, in-depth analysis of music industry contracts, industry issues related to copyright law and current trends in corporate and DIY marketing and distribution of music. The impact of the Internet on music sales, marketing and distribution will also be examined. Lect: 3 hrs. Prerequisite: BDC 927 Course Weight: 1.00 Billing Units: 1
