BDC 926 Studies in Genre: Drama

A critical survey of the drama genre in television, radio and digital media over the past sixty years. Students examine, in depth, the content, cultural context and criticism, practical techniques and styles of the genre; its stage, film and radio roots; and its development from early experimental broadcasts through to the so-called “Golden Age”, to the rise and fall of the network era, to today’s micro-budgeted internet pioneers.
