BDC 922 Business Case Studies in Communications

Students will conduct case studies exploring particular aspects of Canada’s broadcasting systems. They will focus on how components of the broadcasting system function and on proposals for reform. Areas of study will include the Broadcasting Act, the CRTC, fragmentation and new technologies, Canadian content, community radio etc. Students will present their findings in class and lead discussion on their particular subject. They will also explain that makes their individual research important in the broader context. Lect: 3 hrs. Course Weight: 1.00 Billing Units: 1
